'Chronicles of Riddick' New Movie Shut Down -- No Money, Mo' Problems

Vin Diesel's comeback as an ass-kicking ex-con from the future is on hold ... because production on the new "Chronicles of Riddick" movie has been shut down over some serious cash flow issues.

TMZ spoke with Michel Trudel -- the owner of the Montreal studio where the new movie is being shot -- who tells us he changed the locks and kicked everyone off the set Wednesday because the production company, One Race Films, has failed to pay up on time.

FYI -- One Race Films was founded by Vin Diesel ... who is also set to produce and star in the upcoming flick.

But Trudel isn't the only one griping about a paycheck -- sources connected to production tell us several members of the crew have not been paid in over 2 weeks ... and are very concerned about getting their money.

Trudel tells us he's confident the situation will be resolved soon ... and he's more than happy to let production resume ... as soon as he gets his money.

Calls to Diesel's camp were not returned.

Andrey C. Hicks was a guest at Kim and Kris Humphries televised wedding bonanza in August ... and sat right behind the happy couple during the rehearsal dinner.

But TMZ has learned ... after the wedding, Kris learned Andrey was a target in a federal investigation in which he's suspected of raising money for a purported billion dollar hedge fund ... that didn't really exist.

Officials believe Andrey lied to several investors -- including Kris -- telling them, among other things, that he was a Harvard graduate ... when in fact, he was kicked out of the University after 3 semesters for crappy grades. Officials say Andrey only took 1 math class at Harvard ... and got a D-.

Officials claim 27-year-old Hicks stole $1.7 million from various investors ... and sources close to Kris tell us the NBA star accounted for hundreds of thousands of dollars himself.

Hicks was arrested in Canada on Friday and charged with wire fraud. Officials believe he was trying to flee to Switzerland. If convicted, Hicks could face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

I do not have eligible friends or relatives residing in America, hence I am having to do this.

Recently, Nigerian music megastar D’banj granted an interview to Vanguard newspapers. Below are excerpts from the interview.

D’banj says:

“I really can’t remember, it cost between N4m to N5m, I ‘m not too sure. But I think it’s a beautiful idea if not for the way everyone is trying to go about it. I think Genevieve is a stunner I could date or love her. But we didn’t date. She’s my friend and a star you know. We’re close and we both understand that things couldn’t work out.

That song was recorded two years before the video was released and it remains my biggest song ever. I wanted to make a statement with it.

We had options of whom to use in the video, but at the end of the day, we saw that it’s an African song and by that time I had already played it in about fifty weddings.”

Hmmm… so if D’banj didn’t date Genevieve as he claims, then what thing did they understand couldn’t work out? We’re at lost here.

Jennifer Lopez began crying on stage during a concert in Connecticut Saturday night ... breaking down while introducing the song "If You Had My Love" ... and telling the crowd, "A lot has changed since then."
